Hey y'all,
It has been a minute. Since February life has been very busy with a mental health crisis stuff with a friend pushing me to actually seek my own therapy, baby showers celebrating sweet friends, trips, weddings, and moving. Here's a mini recap of some fun things that have happened since February but I hope to be back regularly blogging. Since it has been so long, I am actually going to split the recap into two posts. This one will recap weddings, trips, and baby showers and Thursday's post will include sporting events and other happenings.
Weddings.
I was able to celebrate a few sweet friends' weddings this year.
Kathryn is the sister of my high school bestie and their family is family to me. My parents and I flew up to Chicago to celebrate. Between a fun rehearsal dinner at a pizza place to a gorgeous ceremony at the Chicago Botanical Gardens and the White Sox baseball game on Sunday, it was a fun wedding with friends who are family.
With the Bride and her sisters during cocktail hour. Also known as my best friend from high school and my other little sisters.
In June I headed to northern NC to a sweet farm to watch one of the women in my bible study marry her person. Last year, we were all at Naomi's birthday dinner turned proposal that night and it was so sweet seeing her and Jed's ceremony.
A few weeks ago, my former roommate and sorority sister Meghan married Matt in Hillsborough, NC. The ceremony began with everyone receiving a glass of champagne with our table number attached. The sweetest ceremony was followed with a beautiful reception and ending the night with all the cake and a sparkler exit.
Trips.
While in Chicago for Kathryn's wedding, I arrived a bit early and attended the musical Six. Seriously, if you love a female pop artist and English history, check out the musical about Henry VIII's wives. I also took the Chicago Architecture Center's riverboat architecture tour.
I also took a weekend away to the beach with my friend Maryscott to Emerland Isle. The beach was so peaceful and while it was a short trip it was so relaxing - pizza, ice cream, dinner in Beaufort, and watching chick flicks.
Kiawah. Our bible study took the weekend to go down to Kiawah Island for a few nights away. The car ride was hysterical, we biked to the beach, went on walks, played games, learned about the show Alone, shared what we were learning in our quiet times studying the bible, and learned so much about one another.
Philadelphia. My college best guy friend has been living in Philly for a few years and I finally found a weekend to fly up and visit.
