It's 2022 and I know if you are anything like me you have the Taylor Swift song 22 stuck in your head.
I spent the last week cleaning my home in prep for this fresh start. I am ready to dive into my year of self-caring. I love the fresh starts of a new month and a new year but I also have the added benefit that it's my birthday month as well.
I am back to work today for the year so I thought it's time to share this month's goals. Let's hope this month's focus on sleep for my annual goals goes well as I get back into routines.
Walk outside more.
I am inspired by Stephanie's year of daily walks. Stephanie walked every day of 2021! There are a lot of different trails in the Triangle and in the Spring I often walked as a way to end my workday. I still plan to work out at the YMCA with Zumba and other classes along with some Peloton app yoga, barre, pilates, and strength workouts but the basic getting outside and walking is my main goal this month.
Go to bed by 11:00 p.m.
I got in a terrible habit of going to bed late or having caffeine late in the day so I decided I need to get back to a nighttime routine with getting in bed by 10:00 pm and lights out by 11:00 pm. I even grabbed the Sleepy melatonin vitamins from Olly to help. This is my big focus of the month from my yearly goals which you can read here.
Pray daily for 5 mins minimum.
I plan to dig into the Psalms this month. I grabbed the Write the Psalms and this study from Daily Grace Company. I would love to use the Psalms as a jumping-off point to pray and journal my prayers this month. My church last year started the year with 21 days of prayer and fasting and I know by participating will make an impact.
Sabbath on Sundays.
I really enjoy taking Sundays to be off my phone and really connect with friends or rest at home. My goal this year is to spend Sundays listening to Christian-themed books while working on a puzzle, embroidery projects, or coloring. I found these coloring sheets from Naomi Paper Co and made a list of books on Scribd (my link gets you 60 days free of e-books and e-audiobooks) so I should be set. Now to get back in the habit of putting my phone up when I get back from church. I already have some booked Saturdays this month so it will be beneficial to rest (and do no work/housework things) this month.
Work with my nutritionist to make yearly goals for my health.
I have been all over the map with my health and fitness and tried all the things. I am committing to working with my new dietitian/nutritionist to make new goals for the year to get me back to a healthy place with my bloodwork and to feel good in my body. I don't know what our eventual yearly and monthly goals will be but I commit to trying my best.
Finish my She Read's Truth "God With Us" project.
I have been working on this cross-stitch pattern for a while and I just have a few finishing touches. My goal is to finish the pattern, wash the project, backed and frame it all this month.
Finish and order 2019, 2020, and 2021 yearbooks.
I started the Chatbook yearbooks a few years ago and went back and made books from 2010-2018 which helped get some photos off of Facebook since I know I have lost other images from changing computers and phones. I know the 2021 and 2020 yearbooks will be quick to make I just need to sit down one Saturday and make them so I am adding them to the list so they get done!
Celebrate my birthday.
With my birthday at the end of the month, I need to plan a way to celebrate with friends amidst a pandemic and this new variant.
What is one of your goals for this month?
