Blogmas Day 3: 5 on Friday {December 6}

Hey y'all,

I am deep into a crazy busy season at work as we wrap up Q4 and prepare for the new year. Seriously, I have no idea how we are already at Friday this week. I really feel like I just started the week, but it does mean we are less than 20 days away from Christmas! Also, I have something booked almost every weekend day until Christmas so I'm excited for all the fun holiday things but also trying to find quiet restful time as well. This weekend is gingerbread building tonight, teaching the Pre-K class at church tomorrow night, and a birthday brunch for a friend on Sunday. I'm ready for all the festivities. As always, here are five things I am loving this week.

one. Holiday decor.

On Tuesday night my dinner plans ended up being cancelled so I took that as a sign to go ahead and pull out my holiday decor since if it didn't go up on Tuesday, I doubt I would have rallied to put it up on Saturday. I love plugging in my Christmas tree when I get home after work and sipping on tea watching Hallmark Christmas movies this time of year.I plan on posting a holiday decor post later next week to show off some of my favorite ornaments, nativity, and a few other special pieces.

two. Write the Word Journal - Gratitude.

This week I pulled out my Write the Word journal. I go through phases of using this in my quiet time and in this season of Advent and holiday events, I love the quick 5 minutes of diving into the word and remembering all the things we should be grateful for and reflecting on ways to serve others. They reformatted this one and it is now called Cultivate Contentment. I think these make a great gift and I might even be gifting one to my older sister (just a different theme) this Christmas.

three. Hallmark movie sweatshirt.

I grabbed my Hallmark Movie Watching Sweatshirt from the Shop Forward and I have gotten so many compliments on it. I wore it to BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) on Monday night and it sparked a fun conversation about Hallmark (and the movie watching app) before we dug into this weeks discussion in Acts.

four. Vitamix.

I splurged on a Vitamix right before Black Friday as my Christmas present to myself. I had been researching blenders for about five months and even chatting with others that had them or had other brands. I had decided to purchase one to replace my inexpensive blender on Black Friday but QVC had an amazing deal (and an exclusive light blue colored base). I ordered the Vitamix 7500 but in my research I also was looking at the 5200. I have been loving making smoothies in the morning with it and even made oat flout in the additional dry container and chocolate pb nice (banana) ice cream one weekend.

five. Blogging Buddy.

Max Cat stayed at my place while I traveled for Thanksgiving and a sweet friend checked up on him. However, since Sunday, he has been very cuddly and will not let me out of his sight. He is always a cuddly little guy but a sweet reminder of slowing down and enjoying the little things.

  1. I love turning on the tree when we get home too (or it starts getting dark if we're already home); those lights always make me smile.
