Hey y'all,
It is officially June which is crazy! How are we already to summer? While I intended to write a few posts this week, the transition back from vacation has been rough. I might have gone to bed at 8pm on Tuesday and I am just now finishing up my laundry from being gone for ten days as well. I'm glad that this weekend is filled with lots of exciting things like a potluck, barre3 class, and book club but I am also hoping to get in some much needed rest.
Now let's get started this month with sharing five goals I have for the month of June! I am using these
daily goal checklists from
Brittany at Where My Soul Belongs.
one. No Spend Six Months.
I am challenging myself to not spend money on any "want" items. That means no clothes shopping, Target Dollar spot items, or random homegoods until December. I will allow some shopping for the five gifts I know I will have to buy with friends birthdays and my parent's anniversary coming up but I really want to focus on downsizing my debt and making some radical budget changes. I personally know I have plenty of clothes and home items that I do not
need anything. In fact, I just went through my closet again to purge more items and will be adding them to my
Poshmark closet over the next week or so. I will be sharing my journey here on the blog as accountability!
two. Romans.
The
She Reads Truth Community is reading through Romans this summer from Monday, June 5th through Sunday, July 16th. I love the book of Romans and I can't wait to dive deeper into the word this summer by completing this study. I have not been as diligent with my quiet time and I hope this study helps me focus on the Lord each day. I think after the study concludes, I am going to get the
All Good Things Collective Study: We Are. This study focuses on who we are in Christ.
three. Move More.
This is a simple act of getting out there and working out even if it is only a few laps around my apartment complex each morning or a 10 min pilates video on YouTube. I know my body feels better when I am getting in my morning workouts but this past week getting back after vacation they have just not been happening.
four. No Dairy.
I am lactose intolerant and while I was pretty good about keeping dairy out of my diet in May, the last week or so I let some creep back in and I want to get back on track with treating my body well with lots of water, fruits, veggies, and no lactose.
five. Post Four Times a Week.
I recently sat down and wrote out blog topics for the next few weeks and I have enough content ideas to write a post each day. While that would be ideal, I know that sometimes my weekends and evenings fill up and when I intend to write blog content disappears. I am really hoping to stay focused this month on writing fun and interesting content for all of you!
What are some of your goals this month?
I think a no spend for 6 months is great!! I think you can do it girl! I have a closet clean out I need to do this weekend! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI love your no spending for 6 months goal! I too am trying to figure out a budget that works for me, and also allows me to put a chunk of my paycheck into savings. Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fantastic goal to avoid extra spending. I'm actually reading through Romans right now with my husband, I had no idea She Reads Truth is doing that too. :) Isn't that great when you get the chance to post more often? Have a happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteGreat Goals!! My home is in a community and one thing I want to do too is get out and walk it each day this summer...I just need to get motivated!! And 4 posts a week is a great goal! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your no spend months! I did that for one month, and it really was kind of nice. Probably should reinstate it again. :) Good luck with your goals!
ReplyDeleteI need to get back to cutting out dairy too. I'm not lactose intolerant but I do feel so much better when I don't have it. That's a lot of laundry to catch up on!! Ugh! I hope you got some rest this weekend - you earned it!! :)
ReplyDeleteHooray for June goals! I love how you keep it simple and straightforward and focus on all the important areas. You're making me want to do a goals post of my own to help me stay accountable! I'm with you on the "move more" goal - I'm signing up for the Barre3 free trial tonight! And maybe I'll check out the Romans study from SRT too - BSF will be studying Romans next year as well! :)
